1. Description and Purpose of Processing
We operate a voluntary local WhatsApp Community for individuals with a connection to the city of the WhatsApp Community. The Community is intended to facilitate networking among members,to organize and provide information about local, free social events and to get SYN brand updates.
Participation in the Community is entirely voluntary. Admission occurs only after a user submits a join request via an invitation link and is manually approved by our administrators.
2. Categories of Personal Data Processed
In connection with participation in the WhatsApp Community, the following personal data may be processed:
- Telephone number
- Profile name
- Profile picture (if provided by the user)
- Messages and other content shared within the Community
- Metadata (e.g., timestamps)
Phone numbers are visible to community admins, members who have saved your number, or those who already have it from other chats - this is applied to the Announcement Channel. In subgroups, your phone number is visible to other members.
By joining the community, you consent to this.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of personal data in connection with the WhatsApp Community is based on your voluntary consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By requesting to join and participating in the Community, you expressly consent to the processing of your personal data within the Community and to the visibility of such data to other members.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by leaving the Community. The lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected.
4. Data Processing by WhatsApp
Communication within the Community takes place via the messaging service “WhatsApp,” provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Inc.
Please note that WhatsApp may process personal data (including communication metadata) outside the European Union, including in the United States. We have no influence over data processing activities carried out by WhatsApp.

5. Retention Period
Your personal data will be processed for as long as you remain a member of the WhatsApp Community. Upon leaving the Community, no further processing by us will take place.
However, content shared within the Community prior to your departure may remain visible to other members unless deleted.
6. Withdrawal and Leaving the Community
You may leave the Community at any time via the WhatsApp application. Alternatively, you may contact us to request removal from the Community.
